When I first started learning how to map eyebrows I was stubborn and didn’t want to learn. My background was in esthetics and I was used to waxing regular brows. We didn’t use stencils, just the best tool in the world which is your eyes. And I still believe that today. But so much has changed in the beauty industry. With the advancement in brow procedures such as permanent makeup, it was essential to learn how to balance the brows equally using the golden ratio.
Over the years, mapping has become extremely popular, especially for those getting into permanent makeup such as microblading or powder brows. With this popularity, brow mapping has trickled over into other procedures including waxing, tinting, and brow lamination.
It’s best to learn the basics, but you have to master them so you don’t consistently end up with uneven brows. Here at Brows & Co., I came up with an easy system to use, and my students found joy in it too. Remember, it’s a skill that must be practiced. But you need the correct foundation without overwhelming the process and that’s why I created the Brow Mapping Guide.
This guide is best for beginners and aspiring brow artists who want to learn an easy technique without stressing over it.
There are many ways to do brow mapping but it’s best to start on paper before you advance to real people. All you need is the guide, a straight edge or ruler, and a good old fashioned pencil.
